Bach to Rock Starts Franchise Push

Bethesda-based private music school Bach to Rock, ranked No. 1 on the Washington Business Journal’s Companies to Watch in 2012, has launched a mid-Atlantic franchise expansion and plans to eventually franchise its music schools nationwide.

Bach to Rock, founded in 2006, has expanded beyond its original Bethesda location with schools in Gaithersburg, McLean, South Riding, Herndon and Lansdowne. It is seeking franchise operators from New Jersey to North Carolina initially. It did not say how many franchise locations it hopes to open.

“Interest in playing music is at an all-time high, especially with the popularity of television shows like American Idol and Glee, as well as pop culture phenomena such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band and iTunes,” said president Brian Gross.
