At Bach to Rock, we know it’s never too early for children to get started with music. Our music lessons for kids 5-7 years old offer a perfect entry point for young musicians. In these classes, kids learn how to play instruments for the first time and build core skills for future music lessons.

In addition to music lessons for kids, Bach to Rock offers a wide range of music lessons for toddlers, preschoolers, youths, and adults!

Bach to Rock Music Lessons for Kids

Bach to Rock offers two types of kids music classes. These classes are a perfect fit for ages 5-7 and can help prepare students for private music lessons.

Our most popular kids music program is Kids n Keys. This ongoing program offers kids piano lessons in a fun and interactive group class! Students get to learn basic piano and keyboard skills in weekly classes, while having fun with other kids the same age! Our Kids n Keys students learn hand positioning, basic fingering techniques, and how to play simple songs.

Kids n Keys also teaches young kids core musical concepts, including how to read music. This makes it a perfect class for early musicians who want to prepare for private music lessons — no matter what instrument they ultimately play!

In addition to Kids n Keys, we offer our Fun with Music class. This kids music education class lets students try different instruments before starting music lessons. Over the course of 10 lessons, students will get a hands-on look at the piano, guitar, ukulele, drums, and singing. This way, young musicians can easily choose which instrument they want to learn!

As with Kids n Keys, Fun with Music includes instruction in basic music theory and musical concepts. We recommend Fun with Music for kids who want to start music lessons but aren’t sure which instrument they want to play.

Bach to Rock offers a wide range of music programs, including lessons for all ages and skill levels!

Our private lessons include programs for piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and voice, as well as brass, string, and woodwind instruments.

We also offer group classes — including beginner classes like Piano 101, Guitar 101, and Voice 101 — plus ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club.

Pricing for Bach to Rock music lessons depends on the type and duration of lesson. You can find up-to-date pricing and schedules for all of our programs through our online sign up system. Pricing may vary by location.

All Bach to Rock students must have access to their own instruments for at-home practice.

Bach to Rock is more than happy to advise parents and students on instrument purchases. We can recommend local stores that sell high-quality instruments for a reasonable price.

We also have wholesale contracts with instrument manufacturers and suppliers. This allows us to provide instruments at a discount to parents and students who purchase them from us.

A list of recommended instruments and accessories is available for all parents and students.

While students must have their own instruments for at-home practice, Bach to Rock will generally provide students with instruments for in-school lessons.

Drums, guitars, keyboards, and support equipment (such as amplifiers) will always be supplied by the school. This way, students don’t have to transport bulky equipment to and from lessons.

As students advance, they may feel more comfortable using their own instruments for lessons at Bach to Rock. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments to school for lessons when possible.

Note that we do not provide wind or orchestral instruments such as clarinets, flutes, saxophones, or violins.

It's never too early to get kids started with music! At Bach to Rock, we encourage parents to start music classes early in childhood, so that kids can enjoy the developmental benefits of music education.

Our programs include Rock n Roll (ages 1-3), Rock City® (ages 3-5), Kids n Keys (ages 5-7), and Fun with Music (ages 6-7). Our early childhood classes help prepare students for private music lessons as they grow older.

We recommend starting private lessons at age 7. This is the age when most students are able to read sheet music — an important skill for private lessons.

Music education offers a wealth of benefits in early childhood. At Bach to Rock, we offer a range of fun and exciting programs to introduce your child to music!

These programs include Rock n Roll (ages 1-3), Rock City® (ages 3-5), Kids n Keys (ages 5-7), and Fun with Music (ages 6-7).
