Student of the Month – Lucas M

Our Student of the Month (August 2024) is Lucas M., who takes Voice lessons at Bach to Rock East Marietta. Read the Q&As below to find out more about him!

Q: What inspired you to play music?

A: My elementary music teacher, Mr. Bush.

Q: What is your favorite style of music?

A:  My favorite style of music is Musical Theatre.

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?

A: Lin Manuel Miranda. I love the way he writes his lyrics!

Q: What is your favorite song to play?

A: My favorite song to sing is My Girl- The Temptations.

Q: What are you learning right now in your lessons?

A: We are currently working on key signatures and the circle of fifths.

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning/performing?

A: I would love to perform “Dancing Through Life” from the Broadway show Wicked!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock?

A: My favorite thing about Bach to Rock is my band, The Endeavors!

Q: What is your favorite thing about your teacher?

A: My teacher, Ms. Caroline, is extremely funny and encouraging.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music?

A: I like to play video games in my free time.

Ms. Caroline has been Lucas’s Voice Teacher since May 2023, and has shared her thoughts on teaching Lucas:

“Lucas is student of the month because of his passion and dedication to improving his instrument in addition to the joy he brings to class each week. Lucas works hard in and out of class and has achieved many accolades for voice such as performing in honor choir, various musical theatre shows, and a summer intensive for Julliard. Lucas is a prime example of how combining practice, setting goals, and a good attitude can bring you to amazing places!”
