Student of the Month – Sanya P

Our Student of the Month (January 2022) is Sanya, who takes Voice lessons at Bach to Rock Sandy Plains. Read the Q&As below to find out more about her! 

  Q: What inspired you to play music?  

A: My mom sings a lot so I think what most inspired me was her dedication to music. I listen to pop music almost every day and I often wished to sing like those singers. 

Q: What is your favorite style of music?  

A: My favorite style of music is English pop music. I love how pop is all the music styles combined in a very unique and fun way. 

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?  

A: I can't decide between these two artists – Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. They both are awesome singers and their voices are just magical. Their songwriting skills are absolutely amazing. I love how their voices and lyrics make you feel exactly what the songs are about. 

Q: What is your favorite song to play?  

A: My favorite song to sing is Dandelions by Ruth B. Her voice is so beautiful and sweet. 

Q: What are you learning right now in your lessons?  

A: Right now, I am learning Perfect by Ed Sheeran. My music teacher is currently teaching me music theory. 

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning/performing?  

A: I am looking forward to learning how to sing high notes perfectly. 

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock?  

A: I love how the people in Bach to Rock are so friendly and nice. They always encourage me to do my best. 

Q: What is your favorite thing about your teacher?  

A: My favorite thing about my teacher is her upbeat and patient personality. She always motivates me, and she helps me with my doubts and questions in music. I always look forward to my classes with her. 

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music?  

A: My favorite hobby, apart from singing, is reading. I enjoy visiting other people and places through my books.
