Beginner Guitar Lessons in Fishers
Learning to play the guitar is easy in Guitar 101! Our beginner guitar lessons teach students the basics of how to play guitar over the course of 10 weeks. Class duration is 45 minutes.
At Bach to Rock®, we offer our guitar lessons for beginners in a group format with small class sizes. Students get to learn with other first-time guitarists, making the guitar less intimidating. At the same time, each student gets plenty of one-on-one instruction, helping them build a strong foundation of skills.
Guitar 101 classes are offered in-person and online, making these classes easy-to-access for students. We also offer an advanced curriculum for students with experience on the guitar. These students can build on their existing skills, with instruction from experienced guitar teachers.
Our beginner guitar lessons are a great way to build early skills and confidence! After graduating from Guitar 101, we encourage students to sign up for private guitar lessons. This way, students will have the core skills they need to start building their repertoire on the guitar.
Guitar Lessons for Beginners
Guitar 101 is a perfect entry-point for students who are learning guitar for the very first time. In weekly beginner classes, students learn how to handle their guitar, play basic chords, and start performing songs.
In the first class, beginner students learn basics like how to hold, tune, and strum their instrument. We show how fretwork can manipulate the guitar’s tone and sounds, as well as how to play basic chords. Meanwhile, advanced students work on techniques like barre chords and inversions.
As lessons progress, students start to practice sections of popular songs with easy hooks for beginners. After this, we encourage students to start making their own music. We teach students how to build songs around simple I-IV-V and 12-bar blues forms, including melodies and harmonies.
By the end of Guitar 101, students have a strong foundation as guitar players. Not only will students be able to play some of their favorite songs, they’ll also be able to craft their own music!
