Three New Bach to Rock Locations to Open Under Area Development Agreement in Minneapolis
Bach to Rock, America’s music school for students of all ages, today is announcing that its Minneapolis, Minnesota-based franchisees, Judy Shoulak and her son Jake Shoulak, are expanding the Bach to Rock footprint with the addition of three schools. The schools will be located in Minnetonka, Roseville and Bloomington, Minnesota and are slated to open in August, 2023; June, 2025; and June, 2026 respectively. The new locations will complement the Shoulaks’ two existing schools in Plymouth and Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
“We are very proud to announce the franchisee area development agreement with Judy Shoulak and her son, Jake Shoulak. They have experienced tremendous success with their existing schools, have an outstanding reputation in the Minneapolis area, and have embraced the Bach to Rock philosophy with great passion,” said Brian Gross, President of Bach to Rock. Since the Shoulaks’ first school opened in Plymouth, Minnesota in 2018, students have been traveling from all over the Minneapolis region to take lessons. “The market demographics support the growth, and families will have more convenience and greater access to a Bach to Rock school in their community,” Gross added. The Coon Rapids location has been open since May, 2022.
Judy and Jake Shoulak are the multi-talented mother-son team breaking new ground for Bach to Rock. Judy has over 30 years of experience leading operations and building high-performing teams at companies such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Office Max and JC Penney. Jake brings the musical acumen to the partnership. After earning his degree in Audio Engineering from the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, he worked extensively providing live sound and recording at events with artists such as Nora Jones, John Reilly and Friends, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, and Dawes. “There is nothing else like Bach to Rock. We discovered such a strong love for our brand and our innovative, student-centric teaching curriculum. We are happy to help fill a void in Minnetonka, Roseville and Bloomington,” said Judy Shoulak. “Our mission is to impact the lives of our students, teachers and team members through music. We are pleased to be taking this growth step and are very eager to help share our values with aspiring musicians to help them achieve their dreams,” she added. Together, the duo will lead the strategic growth of their schools, focus on leadership development for managers, concentrate on gaining efficiencies and enhancing profitability in all locations. “I will be centered around the human resources aspect of our organization, while Jake will address the physical buildouts and relationships with school location vendor partners,” said Judy Shoulak. They plan to hire directors and assistant directors along with a full team of teachers for each school.
