At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. Meet our owners, our behind-the-scenes talent, and our music teachers for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and more!

Zach Steckel - Zach Steckel is a drummer, pianist, and composer living in the Ellicott City area. He recently graduated from the Berklee College of Music, where he studied film scoring, composition, and music theory. As a drummer, Zach has performed in several jazz trios, a couple of churches, and a music festival in Weiser, Idaho. As a composer, Zach has orchestrated and arranged music for an opera (still in the making), and he enjoys writing music for orchestra, taking inspiration from composers like John Williams and Joe Hisaishi. While at Berklee, Zach discovered his love for teaching when he tutored classmates in music theory and classical harmony.

Samuel N

Samuel N - Sam is a pianist, vocalist, and producer who has a degree in Songwriting and Production from Berklee College of Music. He has been teaching voice and piano lessons for quite some time, and enjoys maintaining a positive, supportive atmosphere while instructing. He loves many styles of music, but is particularly fond of indie rock, alt pop, blues, and classic rock.

Andre G

Andre G - Brass, Wind Ensemble, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Sax, Piano, and Guitar - Andre is a professional trombonist and veteran music educator in the D.C. Metro region. He has played in several ensembles spanning a wide spectrum of musical genres including Reggae, Funk, Rock, Go-Go, Neo-Soul, R&B, Gospel, and Hip-Hop. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he has taught wind ensemble, string orchestra, jazz lab, individual lessons and mixed group instrumentation ensembles throughout the DMV area since 2015. He is a graduate of Morgan State University holding a degree in instrumental performance. Andre can be seen performing with The Rhythm Remains, The Switch Band, Joe Keyes and the Late Bloomer Band (http://latebloomerband.com/) and as a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church’s, “1803 Horns”.

Daniel G - Daniel is an experienced educator with a background in Ableton production, beatmaking, and piano. He's fluent in navigating music software, and can provide students with an understanding of every aspect of music production. Students can expect a relaxed environment where they can ask questions and get helpful breakdowns in subjects such as sampling, recording original instrumentation, and creating full compositions. He's a skilled instrumentalist and DJ, capable at mixing, blending and remixing any genre of music.

Daniel K

Daniel K - Daniel Kehoe is multi-instrumentalist from the Maryland and DC area. Specializing in Bass Drums and Guitar, Daniel has been Playing for 16 years and has been out playing gigs in the DMV area for the last 10 years. Starting with Clarinet in 4th grade, Daniel started to branch out to other instruments like the Bass and Piano so he could keep up with his friends who were beginning to pick up guitars and drums, and by High school he was already playing bass in a handful of bands with his friends as well as participating in the traditional school music programs. By the end of high school Daniel was a student musical director for the school's Music Productions, a Teachers aide in music classes like jazz band and music theory. For college Daniel Studied at Towson university graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Music. While in Towson Daniel studied a wide range of Musical applications including Jazz Performance, Composition, Improvisation, Recording Engineering. Studying in Towson also provided the opportunities to gig around the Baltimore area and make connections with fellow students and musicians. Daniel loves to play out and will take all types of gigs ranging from jazz to heavy metal to top 40 wedding bands and anything in between. One of his favorite memories from his time at Towson was playing with Saxophonist Dave Liebman in his Improvisation class.Daniel's Teaching style combines lessons from his past teachers with personal experience he has had in his musical career. Preferring an easy going and relaxed approach, Daniel believes in a world where people are hard pressed to show results and linear progress, that music can be as meaningful and complex as life itself. Therefore, Daniel knows that progress and learning can take many shapes and forms and there should be no pressure when coming to each lesson. Music is a fun, exciting, different language that can provide so much for a person's life, whether your dream is to play at Carnegie Hall or at a campfire with friends or even just by yourself while watching tv, Daniel just wants to help spread the joy and wonder that music has brought to his life.

Gabe F

Gabe F - Drums, Bass - Gabe is an active performer in the D.C, Baltimore, and Pennsylvania area. Along with private, corporate, and wedding band companies, he also plays with rock bands that have headlined at clubs such as The Recher in Towson, The 8x10 in Federal Hill, the Otto bar in Hampden as well as many other clubs and performance halls in the Baltimore/Washington area. Gabe has experience with pop, jazz, and classical music including a performance history with classical double bass repertoire. He is currently finishing his degree in Jazz performance at the University of Delaware.

Margo M

Margo M - Margo is a local theatre educator with a huge focus in music and vocal performance. She has loved studying music since childhood, growing up in choirs and other music ensembles. Their love for music turned into a love for theatre, directing, and teaching. They have directed and music directed multiple productions for ages 5 through adult. She cannot wait to work with vocal and piano students at Bach to Rock!

Matt C - Matthew is a guitarist, pianist, singer, and producer based in the DC area. He is experienced in a wide range of styles, both in live performance and recording/production, with a special affinity for fingerstyle guitar.

Nicholas B

Nicholas B - Nicholas Blackman-Drums, Singing, Composition-Nicholas is a performer from the DMV area who ever since he can remember has been involved in music. He had a choir solo when he was 4, learned piano in 2nd and 3rd grade, played cello in the 4th and 5th grade, was in a professional boys church choir for 5 years, and since 2014 has been playing his main instrument of the drums. He also enjoys composing music as well which comes from his musical education that he gained from being in said church choir as well as self taught drum notation. Nicholas takes heavy influence from many of the great rock drummers such as Keith Moon, John Bonham, Phil Colins, Bill Burford, and his strongest influence Neil Peart and his love for big drum sets. He also has an educational background in African Drumming from his days in College."

Rebecca G - Violin, Viola, Cello, and String Bass - Rebecca graduated from Susquehanna University in May 2023 in Selinsgrove, PA, for a B.M. in Music Education with an emphasis on violin. She grew up in Lancaster, PA, and moved to Maryland in the summer of 2023. Rebecca has participated in many ensembles, like Susquehanna University's Symphonic Orchestra and served as the concertmaster for three years, Susquehanna's University Choir and Chamber Singers, and she is now involved with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society.

Samir C

Samir C - Samir joins Bach to Rock as a multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, saxophone, voice) with many years in the local music scene. Excited about music from a very young age, he is both classically trained and a rock super fan (e.g., literally Bach to Rock). Both as a lead performer and band member! Samir has played at various venues across the country. He is excited to bring his love of songwriting and music performance to performers of all ages.

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
