At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. Meet our owners, our behind-the-scenes talent, and our music teachers for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and more!

Kelly Foster

Kelly Foster - Kelly and Tay, Owners, moved to Apex,NC the summer of 2013 and purchased their first franchise summer of 2015 and the Huntersville school October 2022. Kelly actively manages the Apex & Huntersville schools while Tay pursues his career. We loved the concept of B2R from the get go and saw how it would benefit our own daughter in her pursuit of music. We feel that B2R’s mission to keep fun in the lesson and to make scheduling easy on parents are key! We are energized every time we see our students perform… they truly rock!

Casey D'Eon

Casey D'Eon - Assistant Director: Guitar/Bass/Piano Casey is a Massachusetts native who has been a lifelong student of music. From beginning piano lessons and learning to read music as early as 8 years old, then picking up the guitar and bass at 13, joining his first band at 15, and finally teaching himself how to sing and write songs at 16 he is no stranger to the wide world of music. Although Rock and Blues music is where he has the most experience, Casey can play and appreciate music of all genres and styles. After moving to Mooresville, NC in 2018 with his fiancee and daughter, Casey has since had another child (his son), and has spent any free time extensively studying music production. In 2019, he finally was able to complete the initial build of his own home recording studio. Since then he's had several clients and also plans on releasing his own original music for the first time. Casey's main goal in life, to be able to share his passion for music and recording with all of his students and hopes to spark a lifelong love for music in everyone he works with.

Blake M

Blake M - Lead Admin Blake has been a part-time employee at Bach to Rock since the Fall of 2022, and is also a college student at UNC Charlotte. When not studying, he enjoys spending time on the lake and with his dogs. You will find him either at the front desk, or at your local festivals, if you see him feel free to say hey!

Gary E

Gary E - Drums Gary has been passionate about drumming since the age of 1. His initial spark for this enthusiasm came from bonding with his uncle through the art of drumming. During his high school years, Gary played in the Drumline and the junior-level winter Drumline of Carolina Crown. Additionally, he attended Oak Ridge Military Academy. Since the age of 10, Gary has been an integral part of the worship team, contributing his drumming skills. Over the years, he has taken on the role of a teacher, imparting the art of drums to several individuals. Gary finds deep fulfillment in teaching drums, as he firmly believes that it instills a sense of purpose in a child's life and provides them with a constructive outlet to channel their emotions into something positive.

Hank S

Hank S - Guitar/Bass/Piano/Voice/Ukulele/Early Childhood Hank is a music instructor of guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, voice, beatmaking, and composition. He studied jazz guitar at the University of Arkansas and holds a BBA in business from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master's of Science in Applied Intelligence from Mercyhurst University. Music has always been in his family - his grandmother was a pianist, his father traveled across the country playing music throughout his childhood, and his sister played saxophone in Carnegie Hall. Hank is passionate about music from all genres & cultures, and expresses that through composing for media, writing/producing songs, and gigging around the CLT area. His first memory of teaching comes from 5th grade, where he would help other students learn how to play their recorders. That same year, he heard his teacher play a beautiful chord progression on piano and had to find out what it was. Turns out, it was “Lean on Me,” and that began a lifelong love of music.

Holli C

Holli C - Hollie C. - Admin. came to Back to Rock in the Fall of 2024. She is a native of Davidson NC and a graduate of UNC Charlotte. Her background is in art education. She was an elementary teacher before pursuing a career in Admin. She enjoys the many opportunities offered here at Back to Rock for parties, camps, recording sessions as well as a variety of musical instruction and teachers. Hollie enjoys listening to her husband play guitar and hiking with family & friends.

Humera R

Humera R - Meet Humera, the Event Manager for Bach to Rock Huntersville. She helps plan music events for our school, with the goal of providing exceptional attendee experiences. Humera enjoys cultivating relationships with community leaders and local businesses to enhance event offerings and engagement. She also represents Bach to Rock Huntersville at local festivals, strengthening brand visibility and community connections. By spearheading public relations and outreach initiatives, Humera increases community participation and brand recognition. If you see Humera at events, make sure to say hi!

Jackson H - Band Coordinator Guitar/Bass/Piano/Ukulele/Early Childhood Jackson is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and mixing engineer from Utah. In 2019 he graduated from Snow College with a bachelor's degree in music. He has played guitar for nearly 20 years and has also picked up the piano, bass guitar, lap steel guitar, banjo and harmonica over the years. He has been a part of several music projects including Sea Elephant, Across the Snow and jhard with some of his compositions being featured in short films and documentaries. Since moving to North Carolina in 2022 he has been regularly performing around Charlotte and recording his own original music.

Abby R

Abby R - Voice/Piano/Ukulele/Early Childhood Abby is a current Choral Music Education student at the University of Charlotte, and hopes to teach public music education in elementary and middle schools. With experience in classical, choral, musical theatre, and pop music, her goal is to educate young musicians through instruments such as voice, piano, and ukulele. Along with the completion of her Bachelor's degree, Abby is in the Musical Theatre Certificate program. Through this certificate, she has received training from professionals in the performing business, and has even qualified for multiple voice conferences/competitions. She has a background in music theory as well as basic composition, and enjoys using this to inspire creativity and critical thinking.

Autumn R

Autumn R - Guitar/Violin/Viola/Voice/Piano is a graduating senior at Northwest School of the Arts majoring in Orchestra. She has been playing the guitar and violin since 2019, and the viola since 2022. She has participated in chorus and solo singing since always. She has done All Districts, All Regions, and ASTA All State Orchestras on viola, and performed with The Piano Guys on violin. She teaches middle school orchestra at her Arts Magnet as a Student Apprentice and studies Arts Teacher Prep at CPCC alongside her high school courses. Autumn is joining Bach to Rock so that she can develop her teaching skills for her college degrees in Music Education and Social Work.

Clyde F

Clyde F - Brass/Woodwinds/Strings/Guitar/Piano/Bass Clyde teaches brass, woodwinds and percussion instruments. He attended Shenandoah Conservatory for Music in Winchester, Virginia, and at Mitchell College. Clyde taught in the public school classroom for twenty-six years! Through music he was able to reach a lot of students, and likes to think he was able to help many of them express themselves through the music they were making together.

Gabe R

Gabe R - Guitar/Piano/Ukulele/Trumpet Gabriel, a finance major at UNC Charlotte, is passionate about music. Growing up in a family of five, he developed a love for music from a young age. Gabriel's musical journey began with the gift of a guitar for his 5th birthday – it ignited his passion for creating music! He has a diverse musical background, having performed with prestigious ensembles such as The Lake Norman Philharmonic Orchestra, the Langtree Charter Orchestra, and the UNC Charlotte Symphonic Band. He is proficient in trumpet, guitar, and bass and actively seeks to expand his instrumental knowledge. Bach to Rock played a pivotal role in his musical development. His participation in their middle school band programs fostered his confidence in public performance and inspired him to form his own band, which has toured throughout North Carolina. He is eager to contribute to the Bach to Rock community and inspire a new generation of music enthusiasts. He is dedicated to ensuring that every student acquires the necessary skills to confidently play their instruments, participate in ensembles, and even perform live.

Kale B

Kale B - Brass/Woodwinds/Strings/Piano/Early Childhood Kale is a Colorado Native who came to North Carolina in 2020 to continue their musical studies at Appalachian State University where they graduated with a degree in Music Education in 2022. Kale is the current Director of Bands at J.N. Fries STEM Middle School in Concord. In the past, Kale has taught band, orchestra, choir, and piano at Cochrane Collegiate Academy and Garinger High School. When they aren’t teaching, Kale performs on Euphonium with the Charlotte Pride Band. Kale has an appreciation for a large range of instruments and genres, but thrives the most in teaching the classical band and orchestra instruments. Whether you’re taking a lesson or just seeing them in the building, they encourage everyone to say hello!

Kathleen B

Kathleen B - Voice/Piano/Early Childhood Kathleen is a former musical theatre student of Valdosta state university and now mother of 1. She has been studying voice since the 7th grade and piano since the 10th. She is involved in advanced groups such as Tri-M Music Honors Society and ITS (International Thespian Society) competing and performing in those as well. Music has been a big part of her life when she was little and has continued it through adulthood perusing her dream to teach music to others.  

Maxine W

Maxine W - Flute/Clarinet/Saxophone/Piano/Voice Lover of all things music! with a passion for creating a pathway for students to gain a love and appreciation for music. Classically trained flutist. Teaching in the Public and in the Homeschool Sectors. Instrumental and Vocal Music for 17 years. Teaching Woodwind, Voice, Piano Brass and Strings both individually and in ensemble settings. Peter C

Peter C - Guitar/Bass/Drums/Piano/Ukulele Peter is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist with over a decade of experience in guitar, drums, bass, piano, and music production. Starting at age 14 with guitar, Peter quickly developed a passion for instrumental virtuoso styles before expanding into drumming at 16. As a drummer, they performed with local bands, released albums, and participated in live shows and weekender tours. Over time, their curiosity and love for music led them to explore bass guitar, piano, electronic production, and the technical aspects of recording, mixing, and mastering. Drawing from a diverse range of influences—spanning progressive rock, math rock, metalcore, jazz fusion, and Midwest emo, to Japanese disco-inspired EDM and chiptune—Peter brings a deep appreciation for composition and experimentation. Their unique approach to songwriting often involves crafting pieces from the perspective of multiple instruments, blending creativity with technical skill. Beyond playing, Peter enjoys tinkering with gear and exploring the endless possibilities of music creation. As a teacher, Peter is passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring others to find the same joy in music. Whether helping students develop foundational skills or guiding them through complex techniques, they strive to make music engaging, fun, and accessible for all levels of experience.

Thomas

Thomas "TK" K - Guitar/Bass/Drums A lifelong music lover, TK started performing at age 15, and today he is brilliant on stage as the popular bassist for regional rock band 'Black Glass.' From beginners to advanced learners and from individuals to groups, TK can teach it all, including a variety of genres, music theory, and all-important instrument maintenance. TK's love for music really shines through in his interactions with students. He is waiting to meet you and discover the music YOU love!

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
