At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. George C

George C - George is a skilled piano player and teacher playing many venues all over the New York Area with his wonderful band The Green Streets!

Sophia B

Sophia B - Sophia is an accomplished vocal instructor with a lifelong passion for music and performance. Having sung since kindergarten, they bring years of experience and dedication to their teaching. She has performed in prestigious choirs, including All-County, All-State, and international choirs, showcasing their exceptional vocal talent and versatility. Currently pursuing a degree in Audio Production at the Purchase Conservatory of Music, Sophia combines their academic background with a broad range of practical experience. Their musical training spans multiple genres, including jazz, pop, rock, and gospel, allowing them to provide students with a well-rounded approach to vocal technique. As a firm believer that music has the power to bring people together, Sophia is passionate about helping students discover and express their unique voices through song. With a deep understanding of music theory and years of sight-reading experience, they are dedicated to guiding students through the technical aspects of singing while fostering creativity and self-expression. Sophia is excited to share their expertise with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them grow as musicians and performers in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Aeneas S

Aeneas S - Aeneas Sparks is a versatile musician and dedicated educator hailing from Aurora, Colorado. During highschool he moved to New Jersey to further his academic and artistic studies. Aeneas honed his craft at the esteemed NJPAC (New Jersey Performing Arts Center), where he developed a deep passion for performance and artistry. Aeneas earned a bachelor's degree in Music Performance and the Business of Entertainment from New York University, equipping him with both artistic skill and industry knowledge. Now based in the New York City metro area, Aeneas thrives as a freelance drummer, collaborating with a diverse range of artists and ensembles. With a commitment to both performance and education, Aeneas brings a unique blend of technical proficiency, creative expression, and real-world experience to every project and classroom.

Allison S

Allison S - Allison Smith is a dynamic and expressive cellist whose performances have been described as animated, pensive, and entrancing. They are a recipient of the Otto Kahn Scholarship, an award granted to graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career in the arts, as well as performing as a soloist with Gemini Youth Orchestras. Allison has also been selected to perform several masterclasses with professionals such as Trio Solsti, Emily Taubl, and Joanna Kaczorowska. Allison is currently studying Philosophy and Cello Performance at Purchase College, where they study with Caleb Van Der Swaagh.

Asim B

Asim B - My name is Asim Barnes, a Westchester, NY native and professional Music, Social Studies, Spanish, and ELA teacher/tutor with 20 years of experience, bachelors of education from Mercy College, Minor in child psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in music education from Lehman College. I have performed at Lincoln Center and The Apollo Theater. I have 20 years of experience in playing and teaching guitar as well as piano and voice. My experience includes teaching tutoring, performing, music therapy, all different ages/walks of life, and much of this at Concordia College, The New Rochelle YMCA, Iona College, and Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club. I have traveled to Europe, Latin America, and The Caribbean several times over absorbing different musical and cultural elements that I would love to share with my students to enrich their music and overall life experience in piano, guitar, voice, bass, and drums-be it folk, classical, rock, jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, latin-etcetera. Much of this has been alongside members of the Roots, T.V. on The Radio, Nona Hendryx, Vernon Reid, Greg Tate, Melvin Van Peebles, and band members of Alicia Keys and Trey Songs.

Giezi L

Giezi L - Giezi L. teaches Violin and the Piano and was born and raised in Mamaroneck, NY. He first started playing the violin when he was 10 years old and his passion for the instrument enthralled him in classical music. He was very involved in the orchestras at his school and community and participated in concerts in a wide variety of places. He also had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall as a violinist in a quartet. Giezi has taught and assisted teachers in facilitating a fun environment for kids learning music. He also plays the piano and learned shortly after he began the violin to satisfy his curiosity for new instruments and different sounds. He loves music, especially classical, and hopes to invigorate his students to reach that same level of passion that has. Growing up, the teachers that helped him develop as a stronger musician were incredibly important and he hopes to be that same source of inspiration for others as well.

Leo S

Leo S - Leo has been playing guitar for almost 10 years, and is a student at Mamaroneck High School (class of 2025). He was a student at Bach 2 Rock for several years, where his band won 1st place and “Best Original Song” at the 2021 Battle of the Bands. Leo has attended summer programs at Berklee College of Music and The New School. He also writes and records original music from his home studio, equipped with Logic Pro. Finally, Leo is a proud member of Mamaroneck High School’s PACE program and founded MHS's first ever guitar club.

Sven S

Sven S - Sven W. is a Voice, Piano, Guitar, and Rock Band coach at Bach to Rock. Originally from Germany, Sven’s love for performance began in his early years as a dancer, leading him eventually to Musical Theater. He pursued his passion for the stage by studying majoring in Musical Theater at the New York Film Academy. Sven has since been involved in numerous productions, including the off-Broadway Musical “Working”. With his diverse background and experience, Sven brings a unique perspective to teaching, helping students to develop their musical talents while emphasizing the importance of performance skills.

Aerik B

Aerik B - Aerik is the Director at B2R Mamaroneck and a lifelong musician, composer, and producer with 28 years in the music business. Aerik has also worked in set coordination and event production for almost 20 years. He has worked in almost every aspect of the entertainment business and enjoys helping the next generation find their creative and musical voices!

Joshua S

Joshua S - Joshua is multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio producer from the Bronx with a Bachelor's in performance from Hunter College with his primary instruments being sax and voice. He has studied a wide range of styles and genres -- including jazz, heavy metal, classical, soca, rock 'n' roll and more -- for over fifteen years and his ability has led him to stages from Times Square to London, yet he knows he still has much to learn. He has three bands and is currently in a volunteer choir. This is his first teaching gig and is looking forward to witnessing the success of his future students

Noah R

Noah R - Noah R. is a multi-instrumentalist session musician based out of NYC with a passion for music education. He is currently graduating from The New School For Jazz Performance, and for the past 4 years, he’s been playing at various venues (and basements and roofs) across the New York area both with his own band that he composes original music for as well as other groups ranging from hip hop to jazz ensembles. Even though his career as a musician and educator is just beginning, Noah already has over a decade of experience performing, and about three years of experience teaching both privately and for private schools.

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
