At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. Meet our owners, our behind-the-scenes talent, and our music teachers for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and more!

Ashton Rutherford

Ashton Rutherford - Ashton is the School Director for Bach to Rock Memorial. She has a passion for music and children development. She has over 5 years of experience tutoring and supervising children K-8 and 10+ years of customer service experience in healthcare, compliance, finances, and quality service improvement. She participated in school bands and gospel choirs for 7+ years. She began her music journey in 5th grade all the way through college and is fluent at Clarinet. She began her vocal journey at age 5 in church, progressing to high school and state choirs up through college. She traveled and toured with multiple vocal groups until she decided to focus on her studies in Business Finance & Investments at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. After working in the corporate business industries, she later decided that she wanted to combine her passions and business experience into one by joining Bach to Rock and helping children and musicians alike to expand their musical skills in every way!

Ian R

Ian R - Ian is a Piano, Guitar, Voice, Recording Arts, Beatmaking, Songwriting and Early Childhood instructor at Bach to Rock! He also coaches our Glee Club! Ian began playing guitar at about 10 years old and got into Beatmaking, Recording, as well as Production in high school . In 2020, he received his Associates degree in Commercial Music: Sound Engineering from Lamar State College: Port Arthur and works as a Freelance Producer and Sound Engineer in many genres! Ian loves working with students of all ages and is committed to making music lessons fun and engaging!

Hollis J

Hollis J - Hollis Jenkins is a multi-instrumentalist producer. He plays piano, guitar, violin, viola, ukulele, and bass guitar to make my own music. He is very fond of jazz music as it is his favorite genre of music when it comes to his other instruments outside of violin and viola; for those he prefers classical music. He graduated from Brown University, played in various state competitions throughout high school, as well as participated in multiple ensembles. He also has experience in songwriting and composing, and says he uses his music education to help translate the music in his head and in his hands into English.

Jim D

Jim D - Jim is a multi-instrumentalist with a focus on drums and guitar. He has experience teaching students of all ages. Jim has more than 30 years of musical experience in performance and composition, and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston. He is enthusiastic teaching every style of music, from rock to jazz to electronic. When Jim is not teaching, you will find him working as a studio drummer and spending time with his family.

Jonah T

Jonah T - Jonah Trachtman is a multi-instrumentalist musician/producer from Houston, Texas. He plays guitar, bass guitar, piano, and drums as well! He studied integrated studies at the University of North Texas. Jonah even has experience singing in choirs and jazz vocal ensembles. He produces music using the software Reaper to create his music projects. He is in the Hardcore Punk band Pressure Code as their guitar player.

Jose A

Jose A - A multi-instrumentalist composer/producer/audio engineer. He plays Clarinet. Alto Saxophone, and Piano. He started his music journey during middle school all the way through college. Has a Music Studies and Music Recording degree from San Jacinto College. He also assists his talents at his local church and volunteers for anything on audio/video production. His goal is to teach music with approachability regardless if it's learning how to play, compose, or mix music.

Jose S

Jose S - Jose is a Houston based musician that has been playing for over 20 years. He has been teaching music for 4 years. He is a multi-instrumentalist at Bach to Rock, teaching piano and guitar. Jose is currently enrolled at the University of Houston Moores School of Music for a BA in Music. His main instruments are guitar, bass, ukulele and piano. Jose has many records with the Houston indie band “Young Mammals” and “The Soft Wear” and has also played with jazz ensembles at the University of Houston.

Leslie N

Leslie N - Leslie is a multi-talented music instructor with plenty of experience and expertise to offer her students. She is a voice, piano, and early childhood instructor at B2R Memorial! She began her own musical journey at the young age of five, starting as a vocalist and soon adding piano to her repertoire. Leslie earned her Bachelor's degree in Commercial Music from Belmont University in 2021. In addition to her passion for music, Leslie loves baking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Nathalie Y

Nathalie Y - I began classical training on clarinet at the age of 11, then 3 years later began weekly performances in a contemporary worship band, performing on keyboard. I am now entering the fourth year of my Music Education degree at Houston Christian University. I have experience performing on clarinet in a variety of ensembles such as marching bands, symphony orchestras, and jazz bands. I enjoy exploring and listening to all genres of music and am excited to share that love of all music with my students.

At Bach to Rock, we offer music lessons and group classes for kids and adults, plus camps and birthday parties! With our fun and beginner-friendly approach, it's never too early or too late to get started with music!

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
