At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. Meet our owners, our behind-the-scenes talent, and our music teachers for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and more!

Buddy Bryant

Buddy Bryant - DIRECTOR - Buddy Bryant is an early childhood educator with specialties in Drums, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, and World Percussion. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Buddy studied Scientific Revolutions and graduated from the School of Humanities and Sciences. Born and raised in Richmond, Buddy started performing at the age of 5 through church and other local events, eventually leading to touring North America. He loves all music and has performed for artists and in several bands across the country throughout his musical career. Buddy loves to share his passion for music with others and teaching students of all ages!

Jeff Blake

Jeff Blake - I am a music producer, the president of House Royalty Records, a multi genre turntablist, and a party people pleaser, with a focus on creating pleasurable experiences through music during in person and streaming performances to dance floors both domestic and international. My goal in life is to deliver positive energy with every interaction. My name is Jeff also known as DJ Jigsaw as complex as da puzzle as precise as da tool (DJ Jigsaw for short). I use musical pieces or selections like Dance music and mix them together to create a beautiful picture similarly to that of a Jigsaw puzzle, and with sharp cuts and detailed timing when playing Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Jazz, I am as precise as the Jigsaw tool.

Brett P

Brett P - Brett P. is from Charlottesville and has been playing Bass and Guitar for seven years and is self taught, and has taken up drums over the last year to expand his musical capabilities, and wants to be able to take everything he has learned over the years and give back. He is currently a senior at VCU with a focus in PR, but found that he loves music just as much as anything else. He is currently working on a pop punk project locally in Richmond, and has volunteered his time in the past as the bass player for a local church as well.

Alex G

Alex G - Alex is an experienced music instructor who teaches guitar, drums, piano, and vocals. He has been singing since he was 6 and has always had a passion for music. At 14 he played a main role in his middle school production of “Fiddler on The Roof,” as well as being accepted into state choir multiple times in high school. Alex began playing the clarinet in elementary school, and then started learning more instruments on his own. He continues to perform covers and original songs at local open mics. Alex loves teaching and is excited to inspire students through music. His favorite genres to play are folk/indie and his biggest inspiration is Elliot Smith

Christian L

Christian L - Mr. Chris has been playing guitar since age 12 and has been touring around the country for the past 5 years primarily on Guitar. Mr. Chris can teach Drums, Bass, Guitar, Beginner piano, Ukulele, and band building! He loves helping students achieve their goals from the studio to the stage.

Devin S

Devin S - Devin S. is a current B.A. Music student at Virginia Commonwealth University with an expected graduation in spring 2022. While at VCU, Devin has been a part of the Choral Arts Society, VCU’s Commonwealth Singers, and the Guitar Ensemble. He has studied under Dr. Carlin, Dr. Adamek, Dr. Leitao, Dr. Zheng, and Professor Myssyk. Devin has focused his studies at VCU on music education, music production, and composition. He is a 2020 and 2021 recipient of the Jesus Silva scholarship. After VCU, Devin plans to continue studying for a Master’s Degree in composition and scoring.

Elle R

Elle R - Elle Reeves is a teacher of vocals and guitar. They have been receiving private vocal training for 14+ years and have experience performing with guitar. As a current musical theatre student with VCU, they are always elevating their passion for performance and their wish to share the world of the arts with others.

Felipe O

Felipe O - Felipe Osorio is a Producer, Engineer, DJ, and Multi Instrumentalist including Piano, Guitar and Bass. After Graduating from The Omega Studios' School of Applied Recording Arts & Sciences, Felipe began producing and recording Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, and Dance Music under the pseudonym OZO. He comes from a diverse musical background applying influences such as Samba and Baile Funk into modern trap beats or even black metal guitar riffs over 90s boom bap. In 2021 he got the opportunity to DJ 1 Night in LA, a festival including rising underground artists. As a hobby he records music with his roommates to sharpen each other's skills as artists.

George M

George M - George has been teaching Violin and Piano for over 2 years. He loves Jazz, R&B, and Hip Hop. He loves teaching all students at any skill level from very beginner to level 4 advanced.

Grace B

Grace B - Grace has 8+ years working with kids ranging ages 1yr-18yrs old teaching Voice and beginner Piano. She grew up in Waynesboro, VA and was an active participant in her local musical theatre department. She moved to Richmond back in October with her partner & their dog Buck. A fun fact about Grace is that in her time she works as a professional princess. She can't wait to work with the kiddos of B2R!"

Juan S - Juan Soler-Davis is a skilled musician and educator, proficient in piano, trumpet, guitar, bass, vocals, and music production. He holds a degree in Music Production from North Carolina Central University, where he founded the Acoustic Electric Ensemble and led the trumpet section in the Marching and Symphonic Bands. With experience in independent productions of High School Musical and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Juan combines his passion for music with a dedication to teaching, having also taught Math, Science, and Life Skills in the public school system.

Michael P - Teaches bass guitar, guitar, piano, and music production at B2R. With over a decade of musical experience, Michael performs live throughout the DC/Baltimore area, covering genres from pop rock to fusion jazz. His expertise extends to audio engineering and music production, working with artists from around the world to help them craft their perfect sound. In his free time, he finds joy in going to the gym as well as spending time with his pets.

Paul K

Paul K - I have a deep appreciation for groove & percussion music, and I love to learn about new & exciting music genres. I’ve had a particular interest in music technology for over ten years, working with pre-production and post-production software. I’ve led college-level classes, as a teaching assistant, focused on the fundamental techniques required to create and design musical compositions with digital action workspaces.

Riley C

Riley C - Riley is a teacher of guitar, drums, piano, bass, band, and recording arts. Outside of teaching he works at producing and recording original music and running sound for live events. He is particularly interested in more band and recording arts students.

Robert R

Robert R - Robert R. Graduated from VCU in 2020 with a Bachelor Of Arts in Music, Robert was a three-time recipient of the Jesus Silva scholarship (2017-2019) and studied classical guitar with teacher David Robinson. Robert is also an avid composer and audio engineer who frequently writes music and mixes/masters songs for various musical and media outfits. Currently, Robert studies film scoring with Filipe Leitao and plans to pursue a film scoring degree in the near future. He also runs a YouTube channel under his name which features crazy guitar covers of popular songs and musical knowledge tidbits geared toward those just getting into recording or playing guitar. Robert is teaching guitar, bass, and music production.

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
