Piano Lessons for Kids in Nashville
Kids n Keys is a perfect introduction to piano lessons for kids! With a curriculum designed for ages 5-7, these group classes make learning to play piano fun and exciting for younger students!
In Kids n Keys, students build a strong foundation for piano and keyboard. Your child will learn valuable skills, like basic finger placement and playing techniques, as well as early musical theory.
Our small class sizes make piano lessons for kids more fun, giving your child the chance to learn with peers! At the same time, each student gets plenty of one-on-one attention from our instructors. Class duration is 45 minutes.
After graduating from Kids n Keys, students can graduate to private piano lessons at Bach to Rock®. This way, your child will have a solid foundation in place by the time they start one-on-one lessons!
About Kids n Keys
The Kids n Keys program is designed to make learning the piano more kid-friendly! Group classes help make piano lessons more fun and engaging. Meanwhile, our curriculum is specially designed to give young students an entry point to the piano and keyboard.
In our piano lessons for kids, we focus on the following five skills. By building these skills, your child will gain a strong foundation for future piano lessons.
Piano Techniques
Kids n Keys teaches students all of the basic techniques for piano and keyboard. Each class includes core concepts like finger positioning, hand coordination, and basic chords. Students get to learn new songs in each class, allowing them to practice and develop these skills!
Playing by Ear
Playing by ear is a critical skill for accomplished pianists. In our piano lessons for kids, we teach students how to play by ear using concepts from the Suzuki method. This way, students can learn to listen to music and play the piano more intuitively!
Sight-Reading
Most students have trouble reading music until they are 6 or 7 years old. In Kids n Keys, we offer a kid-friendly, step-by-step method for learning musical notation. This gives your child a head start when they start private music lessons!
Creative Inspiration
To play piano, you need inspiration! In our kids piano lessons, we introduce kids to a wide range of musical styles — from classical music to rock and roll to rap. Each class includes a listening exercise, helping students develop their ear and explore different genres.
Group Performance
At Bach to Rock, we believe that playing with other performers is an important skill for musicians. Our piano and keyboard lessons for kids include group performances. This gives kids the chance to build teamwork skills and start performing with peers!
