At Bach to Rock, we’ve assembled an amazing team of music teachers! Our instructors include classically trained musicians, as well as working professionals who tour and record with major artists. Meet our owners, our behind-the-scenes talent, and our music teachers for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and more!

Cindy B - Cindy serves as the School Director at Bach to Rock Northbrook, where she acknowledges the essential importance of music education and is dedicated to enriching the community. Her passion for music began at the age of eight, leading her to gain proficiency in piano, voice, clarinet, saxophone, and organ. She received her foundational training at the Cleveland Institute of Music and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Piano Performance from Miami University. Presently, she holds the position of Music Director at Glenview United Methodist Church. With her extensive experience in music education and community involvement, Cindy is devoted to fostering excellence among the teaching staff, creating opportunities for student performances, and encouraging mentorship within the areas Bach to Rock Northbrook serves.

Angelo L

Angelo L - Angelo is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Altadena, CA. Influenced by the sounds of soul and blues, he began playing guitar at 7. Around 15 he began recording himself, learning to record and produce songs from home. Angelo attended Berklee College of Music, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. He now records and produces for artists and clients as well as working on his own material.

Jack S

Jack S - Jack is a bassist, composer, and educator from Chicago. He began his musical journey at the age of 4 studying traditional Celtic music with the great Noel Rice. Jack has since found a love for performing all kinds of creative and improvisational music. His style blends aspects of traditions from all over the world to create a fresh unique sound world. Jack's wide ranging musical interests have enabled him to perform with artists ranging from Ernest Dawkins to Glen Hansard. He is a regular member of the Shout Section Big Band and the collaborative trio Bunn/Sundstrom/Dalawari and has also performed with the likes of Vincent Davis, Thaddeus Tukes, Paul Wertico, and many others. As an educator, Jack holds a faculty position at the People's Center for Cultural and Contemporary Arts.

Johnny P

Johnny P - Johnny, better known as DJ J.P. GUNNz, is the epitome of what it means to be a professional DJ. He has performed around the world for over 20 years, mastering all sides of the art form, from turntablism to party rocking. He has DJ'd competitively, participating in world-famous battles such as the Red Bull DJ Championship, the DMC battle, and many more. Johnny's high-energy style of teaching makes learning DJing filled with fun. He is a master of the old school vinyls and new age DJ controllers. His experience allows him to teach all skill levels of DJing from beginners to advanced students. Get ready to turn up the beats with Mr. Johnny!

Maggie H

Maggie H - Maggie is a Chicago based drummer/percussionist and teacher. She has a Bachelor’s of Music from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a Master’s of Music from Roosevelt University. Throughout her education and musical career, Maggie has performed in a variety of ensembles including jazz bands/combos, orchestras, musicals, and marching bands. In 2019, Maggie traveled with the UW-Whitewater Vocal Jazz Ensemble to Germany and Poland, playing drum set and percussion in various venues across both countries. In 2020, she played in the UW-Whitewater Symphonic Wind Ensemble in Carnegie Hall. In 2023 and 2024 she was accepted to play in the Lake George Music Festival in Lake George, NY, playing drum set and percussion. Besides Bach to Rock, Maggie teaches in multiple Chicago Public Schools, as well as with the Kenosha Unified School District in Kenosha, WI. When not teaching, Maggie performs with various orchestras in Illinois and Wisconsin, and she is a performer with the TundraLine, the official drumline of the Green Bay Packers.

Mitch D

Mitch D - Mitch is a Chicago born bassist/guitarist/recording engineer with over 15 years experience playing music. Studying both audio engineering and radio at Columbia College Chicago. He also writes, sings, and performs in his bands Overclocked, and Small Weather who have played over 100 live shows around the Midwest. Mitch has released music both as a solo artist and as part of a band, playing multiple instruments and engineering his own releases using his proficiency with the recording software ProTools.

Ian Z

Ian Z - Ian is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with a degree in Musical Theatre from Viterbo University. On top of his performance training, Ian designed and engineered sound for 9 plays and musicals in his time at Viterbo (including his own senior showcase performance). He currently plays bass and sings for the Milwaukee band Superglue, when not working on his self-produced solo project, Bribe. Ian hopes to share his well-rounded appreciation for all facets of music production, because making music should be exciting at every step of creation.

Danielle C

Danielle C - Danielle C is a Chicago based alternative pop singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Madison, Wisconsin. Danielle’s work has been recognized by publications such as Madison365, Tone Madison as well as The Overture Center for the Art’s blog, Only Intermission. Danielle’s life has been full of music since she started piano lessons at the age of seven, gradually learning violin, guitar, and ukulele along the way. In 2018, After she got her first laptop and learned to produce, Danielle began releasing music independently. Danielle’s work in poetry, music, and songwriting have earned her awards from the Madison Music Association, NAACP ACT-SO, and Overture Center for the Arts. Most recently, in 2024, Danielle won the Columbia College Chicago Manifest Song Competition with her original song, “Unbelievable” which she performed on the MainStage at the Manifest Arts Festival. Days later, Danielle graduated Summa Cum Laude with their Bachelor of Music degree in Contemporary, Jazz, and Popular Music. Since then Danielle has been writing, producing, and performing around Chicago both solo and with her band.

Jack Q

Jack Q - Jack started out on the guitar at 14, with a primary interest in classic rock music. Growing up in Glenview, Illinois, he attended Glenbrook South where he became heavily involved in the school jazz ensemble, playing guitar, and marching band, playing the bass, as well as occasionally lending his skills to the choir department and many Variety Show acts. Through the school's jazz program, Jack has had the opportunity to perform at legendary jazz venues in Chicago like Andy's and the Jazz Showcase. Since then, he has become proficient in many styles, such as rock, blues, and funk, and now focuses primarily on jazz and fusion with his trio group that has yet to be named. He hopes to release his projects with his groups in the near future, so that he can share his passion for music with those around him and help expand people's perception of what music can be. Jack wants to help his students be the best musicians they can be and bring out their creative potential!

At Bach to Rock, we offer music lessons and group classes for kids and adults, plus camps and birthday parties! With our fun and beginner-friendly approach, it's never too early or too late to get started with music!

Lessons

Bach to Rock offers music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our private lessons include piano, guitar, drums, voice, and a wide range of other instruments. We also offer beginner classes and ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club. Anyone can learn to play music with Bach to Rock — even if you've never played an instrument before!

Camps

Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it's like to perform!

Parties

Birthday parties at Bach to Rock give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
