Student of the Month – Mia L

Our Student of the Month (February 2022) is Mia L., who takes Piano lessons at Bach to Rock Sandy Plains. Read the Q&As below to find out more about her! 

Q: What inspired you to play music?  

A: I like music on the piano because it sounds good. 

Q: What is your favorite style of music?  

A: I like all music, but probably Pop/Top 40. Anything that is happy. 

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?  

A: BTS, because I like their dance moves and the way they sing. 

Q: What is your favorite song to play?  

A: Anything slow and happy. 

Q: What are you learning right now in your lessons?  

A: How to play “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears For Fears. 

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning/performing?  

A: Anything harder and complete songs. 

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock?  

A: That the staff is really nice. 

Q: What is your favorite thing about your teacher?  

A: Miss Kim is sweet and funny. 

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music?  

A: Gaming on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. 

Ms. Kim has been Mia’s piano teacher since July of 2021, and has shared her thoughts on teaching Mia: 

"I love that Mia always comes into her lessons ready to go, and eager to learn! She strives to always do her best and always challenges herself to do better. Mia has grown so much as a musician over the past couple months! She had an amazing performance at our Winter Recital and I can’t wait to see how much she continues to grow over the next couple of months!"
