DJ Workshops in Wellesley
Bach to Rock DJ workshops are perfect for up-and-coming DJs who want tips from industry experts. These online workshops offer advice on everything from sampling to scratching to organizing your music, with instruction from professional DJs.
All workshops are hosted online via Zoom, so anyone can attend. In each workshop, we’ll spend 45 minutes focused on instruction. We’ll then spend the last 15 minutes of the workshop in a Q&A session, giving students the chance to ask questions about the material.

DJing: Utilizing Samples to Enhance Recordings & DJ Performances
As a DJ, samples have the power to transform a great mix into a next-level performance! The right samples can give your sets a personal stamp and help you stand out from other DJs — whether you’re grabbing dialog from TV shows, sound effects from vintage video games, clips from political speeches, or whatever other sources suit your style!
In this DJ workshop, we’ll show you how creative use of samples and sound bites can enhance your tracks and transitions. Learn the philosophy behind sample digging plus essential tools you can use in Ableton Live to bring samples into your sets.
DJing: Introduction to Livestreaming – Bringing the Stage to Your Home
Livestreaming platforms are giving artists new ways to connect with audiences. As a DJ, you can reach new fans and build your own community online.
In this workshop, we’ll introduce you to software and hardware that you can use in livestreaming sets. We’ll also give you an overview of different streaming platforms to help you find your audience. Dive into the world of livestreaming, and start building an audience from your own home.
DJing: Using Scratching Tastefully to Enhance Your Party Set
If you want to add scratching in your mix sets, it’s got to be tasteful, it’s got to be clean, and it’s got to be on time. Scratching can not only help you stand out as a DJ but will help take your sets to the next level!
For this workshop, we’ll take a deep dive into what techniques to use, which sounds to choose, and timing methods that will help keep you on beat. We’ll also show you how Serato DJ Pro’s vinyl emulation tools make it possible to scratch digital tracks.
DJing: Tools of the Trade – Where to Get Your Music & Keeping it Organized
Having your music organized is one of the most important, yet overlooked disciplines of being a DJ. It takes commitment, dedication, and a well thought out system to stay on top of your songs!
This DJ workshop shows different ways to obtain music like record pools, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud. We’ll dive into different strategies for organizing files, like crate management systems, song tagging, and color coding. We’ll also share personal tips from the industry’s top DJs!
